The main purpose of the Stock Controller at La Residence is to ensure that all departments have sufficient stock and well-maintained assets to be able to deliver our purpose, which is "to give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay" .
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source vendors and negotiate on pricing and quality
- Be the company brand ambassador in dealings with suppliers and co-workers. Living the company’s Purpose & Values
- Monitor and control stock par levels, usage and ordering in the stock room to ensure operations have adequate stock to achieve efficiencies but avoiding excessive surplus
- Co-ordinate all stock stakes, variance analysis of all stock and stock counts and put corrective measures in place
- Co-ordinating stock control operations with HOD’s and Management
- Ensure that all procedures in the department are followed according to Standard Operations Procedures and that all required records are completed accurately and timeously
- Monitor and report on stock waste and escalate issues to management
- Continuously improve and optimize stock control procedures
- Ensure good communication on all levels to ensure effective and efficient operations
- To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
- Attend regular training and coaching
- Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management
REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS
- Grade 12 (essential)
- 3-5 years’ experience as a stock controller or similar position
- Computer competence. MS Office, EsyPos Point of Sale Systems & Procure.net or similar inventory programmes
- Well-spoken (English language & communication skills)
- Ability to perform calculations and prepare detailed reports
- Effective handling of detailed information and consistent attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and numerical abilities are crucial
- Great negotiation skills with suppliers and building good relationships
- Knowledge of stock management systems
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures
- Excellent organization skills
- Great interpersonal teamworking
- Must be able to work independently
- A person of integrity, sound judgement and with ethical behaviour
- Confident, self-motivated, results driven, with the ability to deal with criticism
- Ability to multitask and can work under pressure and meet deadlines
